Power generation – The ability to perform flow measurements from the outside of a pipeline while generating electricity from nuclear fission, coal, biogas, wind, solar or hydropower is essential for a power plant. This makes clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters a smart choice for major energy suppliers.

Although the pipes and liquids or gases used in the different processes vary in size and type, power plants have in common that the processes cannot be shut down for flow measurement and control. Regardless of the fact that these inspections take place permanently or temporarily.

The sensors of our clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are clamped to the outside of the pipe. It is therefore not necessary to open the pipe and shut down the system. This means that there will be no interruption of your flow or production process.

Our ultrasonic flowmeters can be mounted on existing and new pipes of almost any material. They are suitable for pipes and tubes with diameters ranging from 3 mm to 6500 mm. The clamp-on sensors have a high temperature resistance, making them suitable for use on hot water and condensate pipelines etc. Their temperature range varies from -30 ° C to 600 ° C,  while calibrations or zero flow measurements are NOT required.

Because the pipe or tube remains intact when mounting of a flow meter, contact with the potentially hazardous contents is avoided. There is no risk of leakage.

The purchase cost are the only cost. While in-line flowmeters entail additional costs for engineering, process stoppages, trained personnel and all additional accessories (bolts, gaskets, washers, etc.)

Stator cooling systems
This system’s cooling lines are made from flexible PTFE hoses and have little or no straight pipe lengths. For this reason we have designed a special clamping arrangement to provide reliable measurements, even under these difficult circumstances.

Nuclear power stations
In the nuclear power industry the advantages of non-invasive flow measuring is obvious. The main application for this power source is also for the measurement of cooling liquid flows. Due to the sensitive nature of the nuclear fuels, the possibilities for the shut down of cooling systems for the installation of inline meters is even more restricted than with fuel burning stations. For this reason our clamp-on flowmeters are the best possible solution.

Hydropower stations
Our clamp-on flowmeters are used in hydropower stations to measure the flows in penstock pipelines. As these lines are generally very large, clamp-on meters are the most cost-effective solution.
