Whether you use water for purification (sterile purified water, PW) or for injections (WFI), you need to be able to rely on completely sterile tubes. Traditional invasive products create areas where microbiological growth can occur within the pipeline, whereas clamp-on (non-invasive) instruments maintain the system’s integrity and sterility. Many of the liquids used in pharmaceutical production are also non-conductive, making them unsuitable for alternative measurement technologies.

The sensors of our clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are clamped on the outside of the pipe. It is therefore not necessary to open the pipeline and shut down the system. No compromise to the integrity and sterility.

A clamp-on ultrasonic device is the perfect measuring tool for the demineralised liquids used in pharmaceutical processes. These are non-conductive and therefore unsuitable for measurement with an electromagnetic flowmeter.

Our flow sensors are manufactured with stainless steel heads, have a high IP rating and are designed for clean room installation. They can be employed on pipes of acoustically conductive material including various plastics, stainless steel and flexible tubes.

Because tubes and pipes remain intact while mounting a flowmeter, there is no risk of leakage or direct contact with its potentially hazardous contents.
