With our ultrasonic devices, both flow and temperature can be measured. This means that several of our flowmeters integrate heat measuring and data logging in one system.
Under Floor Heating
You can benefit greatly from the efficient adjustment of Under Floor Heating (UFH) systems. Our clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters, such as the KATflow 200, can be used for measuring flexible pipes and tubes with diameters from 10 mm on.
Boiler plants
Regardless of the boiler age and type, the thermal energy produced is never entirely used for the intended purpose of heating a flowing medium. There are always heat losses from boiler casings and pipe work which lead to a reduction in the efficiency of a system.
The heat quantity measurement function available for the KATflow 230 portable clamp-on flow meter, can deliver valuable information about the efficiency of a system. Both the flow rates and temperatures are measured by clamp-on sensors. This makes the metering process completely non-invasive and therefore very convenient as budget-friendly.
The efficiency of a boiler plant can be affected by its control system as much as by the choice of boilers. In a retrofit situation, if the existing controls are rather old, they may not interface easily with a new plant. This problem can be solved by introducing additional sensors providing the information required by modern controllers. The stationary clamp-on flowmeter, type KATflow 150, is the ideal solution to perform this very task. As it offers various process outputs and serial interfaces, it can easily be embedded into automated control systems.
HVAC-systems
HVAC installations (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) are used in non-residential buildings to control the indoor climate. These systems are designed in order to save as much energy as possible. You can accomplish this in particular by regularly checking and adjusting the building’s heating and ventilation systems.
Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters can make the difference here. These instruments provide you with information about volume flows, flow rates, temperatures and energy consumption. We have both stationary and portable devices in our range.
Fire Sprinkler systems
Sprinkler systems have become a standard requirement for many newly built commercial and residential properties. To ensure they are in working order at all times, they have to be inspected regularly.
In addition to that, a main drain test should be conducted at least once a year. This test measures the flow of water to check on any possible interruption within the system. The KATflow 200 is a proven useful tool for this measurement. Compact and lightweight, and therefore easy to deploy in hard-to-reach locations.
