The Katronic WTG (Wall Thickness Gauge) are ultrasonic wall thickness gauges that quickly determine the wall thickness from the outside of the pipe. The gauges are highly precise and equipped with a robust ODU connector that automatically recognizes both the sensor and the associated calibration data. This allows for immediate measurements without time-consuming manual settings.

Why the inner diameter matters

When calculating the volume flow rate, a clamp-on flowmeter relies on the inner diameter of the pipe. However, that diameter changes when the wall thins over time, for example due to corrosion or wear. With the Katronic WTG’s, this value remains current, preventing deviations in flow measurements.
