UFM-7 – This self-manufactured portable ultrasonic wall thickness gauge has a switch function to measure independently of a (paint) coating, also referred to as ‘measurement through a paint layer’.
The UFM-7 is suitable for measuring metals and non-metals. Non-invasive, fast and accurate, without hindering or stopping your flowprocess.
Corrosion monitoring
With this handy wall thickness gauge it is easy to measure the degree of corrosion and / or the decrease in the thickness of the pipe wall over a certain period of time. Consider, for example, offshore applications.
Measurement trough the paint layer
The UFM-7 is equipped with a switch function for measuring a wall thickness independent of any (paint) coating :
- Normal measuring mode : Time interval T1 is between the transmitted signal and the first reflection on the back wall, including the thickness of the (paint) coating.
- (Paint) Coating measurement mode : Time interval T2 is between two consecutive reflections on the back wall, excluding the thickness of the (paint) coating.
- Minimum Tube Diameter : 15 mm
- Measurement Error : ± 0.002 inch or ± 0.05 mm
- Repeatability : ± 0.001 inch or ± 0.025 mm
- Operating Temperature : -20 ° C ~ + 300 ° C (see also ‘Sensors’)
- Power Supply : 1.5V AA batteries, low voltage warning

The UFM-7 is suitable for measuring nearly all pipe materials (metals and non-metals) such as steel, stainless steel, PP, copper, plastics, PVC, glass, etc.
The UFM-7 is suitable for both high and low temperatures. You can choose from different types of probes / sensors, depending on the application.
- NT : for temperatures from -10°C to +70°C
- HT : for temperatures from -20°C to +300°C
