Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters can measure virtually all acoustically conductive fluids, regardless of their electrical conductivity. These include water, wastewater, beverages, oils, coolants, liquefied gases, and many process fluids.
Only highly bubbly or highly viscous fluids can affect the measurement. In these cases, Doppler flowmeters or electromagnetic flowmeters offer a better alternative.
